The Little Raven Sock 2 - The Big Race is a German children's film based on the children's book series Kleiner Rabe Socke . The animated film is the sequel to Der kleine Rabe Socke (2012). The theatrical release of the second part was on July 30, 2015 in Switzerland and on August 20, 2015 in Germany. At the end of 2019, the third part entitled The Little Raven Sock - Search for the Lost Treasure was released in cinemas.

For the winter, the forest animals have to stock up in autumn, everyone helps. Only the little raven, Socke, prefers to rush around with his soap box and race with Eddi Bär. It promptly collides with the storage tank, so that all of the animals' winter supplies end up in the river.

Sock is banned from driving and is supposed to collect nuts as a punishment. When he and Eddie want to deliver the nuts to Mrs. Badger, they discover blackberries on the shelf above. To get to the blackberries, they want to use a ladder, which, however, supports a rotten roof beam. Shortly afterwards the hut collapses and the supplies end up in the river again.

Now, to make amends, the two want to take part in a race, the winner of which will be rewarded with 100 gold coins. With this they want to get new winter supplies.

criticism

The film service found that “The amusing continuation of 'The Little Raven Sock' (2012) about the lovable feathered cross driver” shines with “great joy in telling stories, intense colors and funny clumsiness, which also entertains preschoolers age-appropriate”. The film, however, “could have used a little more care with the animation”.
