Derman Druha ( Ukrainian Дермань Друга ; Russian Дермань Вторая Derman Wtoraja , Polish Dermań ) is a village in the south of the Ukrainian Rivne Oblast with about 1100 inhabitants (2001).

The village, founded in 1497, is the only place belonging to the district council of the same name in Sdolbuniv district . Derman Druhaan is located on the T-18-25 Territorial Road 24 km south of the Rajonzentrum Sdolbuniv and about 40 km south of the Oblast capital Rivne . The Trinity Monastery of Derman is located near the village .

history

The place was initially in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania ( Voivodeship Wolhynien ), after the 3rd partition of Poland , the place came in 1795 to the Russian Empire in the Volhynia governorate . After the end of the First World War , the place became part of the Second Polish Republic ( Volyn Voivodeship ). After the outbreak of World War II , the area was occupied by the Soviet Union and, from 1941, by Germany , recaptured by the Red Army in 1945 and incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR . Derman Druha has been part of Ukraine since its independence in 1991.

Personalities

On March 20, 1905, the Ukrainian writer, journalist and essayist Ulas Zamtschuk was born in the village .
