The Des Moines Township is the most north-easterly of 16 townships in Dallas County in the center of the US -amerikanischen State of Iowa and part of the metropolitan area to Iowa's capital Des Moines .

The Des Moines Township is located in the extreme northeast of Dallas County and is traversed by the Des Moines River . The township extends over 92.59 km², which is spread over 85.78 km² of land and 6.81 km² of water. Neighboring townships in Dallas County are Grant Township in the south, Sugar Grove Township in the southwest, and Beaver Township in the west. Des Moines Township borders Boone and Polk Counties to the north and east .
