Detlef Bertz (born April 2, 1962 in Oschatz ) is a former German luge athlete .

Detlef Bertz from SC Traktor Oberwiesenthal started in the mid-1980s with his partner Hans-Joachim Menge in the two-seater luge. The doubles first attracted international attention when they won the World Cup race in Königssee in the 1983/84 season . In addition, the doubles came in second behind Jörg Hoffmann and Jochen Pietzsch in the GDR championships in 1984. They left doubles rated higher, such as Volker Sotzmann and Volker Dietrich , René Keller and Lutz Kühnlenz and Bernd Oberhoffnerand Jörg-Dieter Ludwig behind them and were able to qualify for the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo . There they messed up the first run and in the end only achieved 15th and last place. In 1985 Bertz / Quantity won again bronze at the GDR championships.
