Hans-Joachim Menge (born February 27, 1963 in Wüstheuterode ) is a former German luge athlete .

Hans-Joachim Menge from SC Traktor Oberwiesenthal started in the mid-1980s with his partner Detlef Bertz in the two-seater luge. The doubles attracted international attention for the first time when they won the World Cup race in Königssee in the 1983/84 season . In addition, the doubles behind Jörg Hoffmann and Jochen Pietzsch came second in the GDR championships in 1984. They left higher-rated doubles like Volker Sotzmann and Volker Dietrich , René Keller and Lutz Kühnlenz as well as Bernd Oberhoffner and Jörg-Dieter Ludwig behind and were able to win for them Qualifying for the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo . There they messed up the first run and in the end only achieved 15th and last place. In 1985 Bertz / Quantity won again bronze at the GDR championships.
