Detlev Friderich Clausen ; also: Detlev Friderich Clasen or Detlev Friedrich Clausin (* 1682 in Uetersen ; † April 8, 1739 , according to other sources 1736 in Schleswig ) was a Protestant pastor , canon of Schleswig and chief pastor of Schleswig Cathedral .

Life

He was the third of five children of Uetersen chief and monastery preacher Martin Clausen (* December 20, 1640, † December 18, 1716) and his wife Anna geb. Hannemann († 1701). Clausen was baptized on November 30, 1682 in the Trinity Church in Neuendorf near Elmshorn, where his father was pastor for 14 years . His wife was Catharina Elisabeth born. Rango, whom he married in 1737.

Clausen studied at the University of Kiel , where he responded to a mathematical disputation in 1703. He then turned to theology and was initially a preacher at St. Katharinenkirche in Gnissau . The patronage of the church to Wesenberg belonged at that time the Duke of Rethwisch . But since the Duke was in Spanish service and was absent, Duke Joachim Friedrich zu Holstein-Plön had Clausen transferred from Gnissau to Wesenberg, where he was introduced as pastor on Sunday Misericordias Domini , the 2nd Sunday after Easter 1717. But when the Duke of Rethwisch returned from the Spanish service, tensions and arguments arose between the Duke and Clausen, which degenerated into denunciations and slander. Clausen felt compelled to look for another job, which he succeeded. In 1722 he became the main pastor of the Schleswig Cathedral and school inspector of the Cathedral School . Clausen died in 1739 and was buried on May 21 of the same year.

As an author, Detlev Friderich Clausen wrote several writings such as: The beautiful parade bed with a living body (congratulatory poem for Christoph Ludwig Stieglitz and Bernhard Elsing to obtain the master's degree on February 10th, 1707) (Götze Verlag, 1707)
