The Deutsche Bank Stadium is a dressage arena in the Soers Sports Park in Aachen . With a capacity of 6,300 seats / standing places, the arena, which was inaugurated in 1999, is the largest of its kind in the world. In addition to the main stadium , where show jumping is held, and the Albert-Vahle-Halle ( vaulting ), the stadium is one of the three main venues of the annual event CHIO Aachen horse show . The namesake is the Deutsche Bank .

Events

In addition to the sporting dressage competitions, numerous supporting events are organized for the CHIO. On the Sunday before the opening of the CHIO, for example, an ecumenical service that is freely accessible to everyone is traditionally held in the stadium on Soers Sunday .

In contrast to the CHIO, the dressage tests of the 2006 World Equestrian Games took place in the main stadium. The Deutsche Bank Stadium was used here for the vaulting and reining tests and was specially roofed for this.

Until the CHIO 2013 the stadium consisted of three grandstands, one short side of the dressage arena was open. Another grandstand will be built at this point by the CHIO 2014, which will offer 1,200 more seats.
