The German Phytomedical Society eV (DPG), based in Braunschweig , was founded in Fulda in 1949 and is the professional organization for phytomedicines . The former Association of German Plant Doctors based in Berlin existed as a predecessor organization from 1928 to 1937. The DPG is recognized as a non-profit association.
tasks and goals
She promotes
- research, teaching and consulting in the field of phytomedicine , e.g. B. on diseases, pests, weed influences or growth disorders in cultivated plants, measures to keep plants healthy and the practical application of the findings.
- the exchange of information between all partners in applied phytomedicine, including users and consumers, with the aim of avoiding negative effects of plant protection on humans, animals and the environment .
- the exchange of scientific experience on a national and international level.
The association achieves this through the following activities:
- Organization and participation in scientific conferences and colloquia such as the national German Plant Protection Conference and the international DPG Berlin Symposium, the inter- and transdisciplinary DPG specialist conferences and the 16 special DPG working groups
- Maintaining relationships with organizations with related objectives as well as with specialist colleagues at home and abroad.
- Membership in scientific associations and associations
- Public relations work by conveying an objective, balanced picture of modern plant protection.
- Participation in the design of curricula and training guidelines.
- Publication of the notice of the company PHYTOMEDIZIN for the members
- Publication of the SPECTRUM PHYTOMEDIZIN series for the interested specialist public.
- Participation in the editorial board of the international journal JOURNAL OF PLANT DISEASES AND PROTECTION as the international scientific organ of the DPG.
- Awarded the Julius Kühn Prize, the Anton de Bary Medal, the Science Prize and the Young Talent Prize for outstanding work in the field of phytomedicine and the DPG badge of honor to deserving members. The DPG is a member of the board of trustees for the award of the Otto Appel medal for valuable scientific and organizational work in the field of plant protection.
