German gymnastics and game championships 1943

The German gymnastics and game championships 1943 took place on September 4th and 5th, 1943 in Augsburg . It was the 23rd championships after the First World War and at the same time the fourth championships during the Second World War. A total of 78 gymnasts and 82 gymnasts took part in the sporting event, which attracted more than 10,000 spectators. The venues were the so-called Schwabenplatz of TSV Schwaben Augsburg and the old TVA-Platz in the Hochfeld district .

Erich Wied from Stuttgart became the champion in the men's twelve fight . Irma Walter-Dumbsky won the eightfight women ’s eightfold , which was the fourth time she won the championship title. In the men's fistball, the German Gymnastics Federation won in 1862 Linz , in the women's netball, the gymnastics community of Schweinfurt won in 1848 .

  • 11 a.m. - Reception of the participants in the Golden Hall of Augsburg City Hall by Lord Mayor Josef Mayr
  • 2 p.m. - Participants march into Schwabenplatz
  • 2:05 p.m. to 5 p.m. - compulsory exercises in the gymnasts 'twelve fight and the gymnasts' eight fight on Schwabenplatz
  • 3 p.m. to 5:35 p.m. - Prelims and interludes in men's fistball and women's netball on the old TVA square
  • from 7.45 p.m. - gala evening in the Ludwigsbau
Sunday September 5, 1943
  • 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. - Freestyle exercise twelve-fight for gymnasts as well as eight-fight for gymnasts on Schwabenplatz
  • 9 a.m. to 11.35 a.m. - interludes in men's fistball and women's netball on the old TVA square
  • 1.45pm to 2pm - children's gymnastics
  • from 2 p.m. - final fights of the gymnasts on Schwabenplatz as well as the final in the women's netball and the men's fistball
  • from 5 p.m. - closing ceremony
