German Marketing Association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Marketing Association eV (DMV), based in Düsseldorf, is the professional association for marketing management and the umbrella organization of the 65 marketing clubs in Germany and Austria. He represents the interests of over 14,000 executives and marketing-oriented companies. Founded in 1956, the association today ensures the spread of marketing awareness in business and society and sees itself as the institution for practical further training and know-how transfer.

The structure of the German Marketing Association is closely linked to the development of marketing in Germany. Since it was founded in 1956, the association has decisively promoted the dissemination of the then still young doctrine of "business success through market orientation". With his marketing activities, he has set standards for many industries and highlighted new topics and trends, such as since 1973 with the "German Marketing Day", the meeting point for marketing managers. In the German Marketing Association, networking goes beyond the city limits of the regional marketing clubs: The establishment of nationwide networks is primarily the result of the major national events “German Marketing Day” and “German Marketing Prize”.

The next generation of managers is organized in the DMV as Junior Marketing Professional (JuMP). Every year juniors from all over Germany meet for the national JuMP conference and the national JuMP camp. In addition, important club events are published in the monthly marketing magazine “ Vertriebswirtschaft ”.

Ralf E. Strauß has been President of the German Marketing Association since November 2013. In the regular new elections of the German Marketing Association eV on April 25, 2015 in Bamberg, Ralf E. Strauss was confirmed in his office as President. The election of the new board also took place within the framework of the new elections. This consists of 7 members and is re-elected every 2 years according to the statutes. The managing director is Ariane Derks.
