Research and grants

The research focus for the years 2011 to 2013 was developed under the working title Der Terrassenblick - German Perspectives on Venice . The cultural and scientific research of Venice from a German perspective should be understood as an invitation to dialogue and facilitated by topics that suggest a scientific and artistic approach: 2011 on the topic of "Polifonie venziane - Venetian polyphony", 2012 on the topic of "spazi veneziani - Venetian spaces", 2013 on the topic of “Ponti. Venezia tra passato, presente e futuro - bridges. Venice between yesterday, today and tomorrow ”.

Romedio Schmitz-Esser initiated the research focus “kinesis - city and movement” for the years 2014 to 2017, which deals with the role of Venice in the context of global history.
