Dezső Kolossváry de Kolosvár , also Desiderius Ritter Kolossváry de Kolosvár or de Kolozsvár (born May 1, 1855 in Weißbrunn , † April 5, 1919 in Ödenburg (Sopron) ) was a Hungarian kuk general of the cavalry , commanding general of the 11th Army Corps in Lviv and politician ( Honvédminister 1903).

Life

In 1876 Kolossváry was retired from the Vienna Technical Military Academy as a lieutenant and transferred to the 10th Hussar Regiment . In 1881 he was assigned to the general staff, promoted to captain in 1884 and major in 1891 . In 1896 he became lieutenant colonel (1897 colonel ) head of the records office , in May 1898 head of the office for operational general staff work, and then in 1901 commander of the 2nd Honved Cavalry Brigade .

With the rank of May 18, 1903, Kolossváry advanced to major general and was entrusted on June 27, 1903 with the office of Honvédminister (Minister of Defense). However, due to the Exlex situation, he was unable to get the military drafts through and on November 3, 1903, with the entire Khuen-Héderváry cabinet, he was dismissed. Major-General Sándor Nyiry was appointed to his successor and the officer was reinstated as a member of the generals.

On November 1, 1907, he was appointed field marshal lieutenant and commander of the Lemberg 30th Infantry Troop Division. After appointment and rank from October 31, 1912 Kolossváry de Kolosvár was until July 31, 1914 corps commander and commanding general of the 11th Army Corps in Lemberg for the area of Eastern Galicia and Bukovina . Kolossváry's active military service ended with his leave of absence on February 1, 1915.
