Diane Lebouthillier

Diane Lebouthillier (born February 5, 1959 in Newport , Québec ) is a Canadian politician and since November 4, 2015 as Minister of National Revenue in the 29th Cabinet of Canada under Justin Trudeau . She is responsible for the Canada Revenue Agency . She is a member of the Liberal Party of Canada and represents the constituency of Gaspésie-Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine in the province of Québec as a member of the House of Commons .

Life

Diane Lebouthillier studied social work at Moncton University and graduated with a bachelor's degree . Prior to her career as a politician, she was a social worker working in Chandler with patients from the Rocher Percé Health and Social Services Center . Together with Georges Mamelonet she fought problems of social care in the region. She is the mother of three adult sons.

Political career

After 23 years of work in the social field, Lebouthillier also became politically active.

Prefect
In 2010 she was elected Prefect of the Regional County Council of Le Rocher-Percé .

Minister of National Revenue
Lebouthillier was elected MP for the constituency of Gaspésie-Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine in the 2015 Canadian general election. On November 4, 2015, she was appointed Minister of National Revenue in Justin Trudeau's cabinet. She succeeded Kerry-Lynne Findlay .
