Thick Air in the Crypt is a board game by Norbert Proena . The graphics are by Victor Boden. It was published in Germany in 2004 by Zoch Verlag . It was included on the nomination list for Game of the Year and in the same year received the German Children's Game Award , and in the Swiss Game Award in the family games category, it was ranked 3rd.

The game includes a game board that can be put together from four parts, 60 vampire tiles, 66 grave cover tiles, 13 wooden pegs, 18 garlic cards and a set of instructions.
procedure
The double-sided game board shows a cemetery with 60 empty tombs , which are closed with a coffin lid, the underside of which has one of six colors. Each player receives ten vampires in different colors, which must be placed in a suitable tomb before sunrise. The beginner may open a coffin lid and, if the color matches that of his vampire , put it down. If you uncover an empty crypt with an unsuitable color, you can put one of your three garlic cards into it. Will this then uncovered by another player, one must this a vampire give , one discovers his own garlic, obtained from each player a vampire platelets. A wooden stake is obtained by opening an occupied crypt. With three stakes you also get a vampire from each player. Whoever got rid of all vampires first wins the game.

The game " Big Air in the Crypt" was published in Germany in 2004. In the same year it appeared in English under the title Dawn Under . In the Netherlands it was called Middernacht, Vampierenjacht! and marketed in Finland under Vimmaiset vampyyrit since 2005 . In 2005 the author also published the expansion Fresh Air for the Crypt .
The game is currently (January 2017) out of stock and is no longer in production.
Awards
This family game with strong memory elements was on the nomination list for Game of the Year in 2004 . In the same year, it also received the German Children's Game Award and was chosen 3rd place in the Swiss Games Award in the family games category.
