action

Anne Providence is a female orphan who was raised to be a pirate by the notorious pirate Teach alias Blackbeard and made the commandant of a privateer with an otherwise male crew. When she found the prisoner Pierre LaRochelle while boarding an English ship, she made him first officer. LaRochelle, however, is a spy hired by the English authorities on the pirate who seeks contact with both his clients and his wife while going ashore. During a stay in the country, Anne, who is unsuspecting about men, and her new officer get closer. She messes with her foster father Blackbeard, who distrusts Pierre. When Pierre's double game finally comes out and Anne realizes that his feelings towards her have been played, she kidnaps his wife Molly and tries to sell her as a slave. This undertaking is sabotaged by her ship's doctor, who is on her ship purely out of gratitude and exhausting the respect he enjoys from her in the form of advice and subtle criticism. Anne later exposes Pierre and his wife to a sandbar, only to sacrifice themselves for them in an attack by Blackbeard.

Others

In the German dubbing, sailing master was translated as "Obermaat" instead of "First Officer".
