The lake Die Rolle is a natural inland lake in the district of Nienburg / Weser , Lower Saxony . It lies on the left side of the Weser , but has no connection to the river.
As a natural bathing lake, the Rolle is an officially monitored bathing water. There are no lifeguards or sanitary facilities. The lake is located in Fauna-Flora-Habitat (FFH) area 289 ( pond bat waters in the Nienburg area). You are not allowed to enter an island in the middle of the lake.
The lake is used by the Nienburg / Weser anglers' association as angling waters, but is restricted due to the FFH protection status. An area of around 11 hectares is available for fishing. In 2010, eel , perch, bream , pike , carp , roach , tench , catfish and pikeperch were reported from the lake. A section of the bank on the south side belongs to a surf club and is closed to the public.
