action

19-year-old Annie Burroughs flies from college and at the same time flees from her strict father to her sister Marsha in Los Angeles . This has a gallery that takes up most of its time. That doesn't please budding doctor David Mitchell, who feels neglected by her career obsession. Annie quickly gets a job as a receptionist in David's practice, getting closer to him through light flirting. Meanwhile, she is also plagued by her own feelings of guilt, because as a child, her mother saved her from a car pulling away, and the mother herself died. Annie has since had a bad relationship with her father, who blames her for the death of his beloved wife. Originally, Annie wanted to be a painter like her mother once did, which she gave up after her death.

One night David has to try to save a patient from suicide . He fails. Annie witnesses this act and is reminded of her mother's death. Overwhelmed by their own emotions, David and Annie kiss. David tries to alleviate the resulting feelings of guilt with Annie the next morning.

Then Annie has to experience how she is rudely rejected by her father Tom. On the occasion of a family celebration given by Tom, she wanted to give him a painting that she had painted. But he felt reminded of his deceased wife, which is why there is an argument. But Annie gets closer to David, because when Marsha cancels an evening with David, Annie steps in for her. Both later sleep together and are aware of their sexual affection, so David toyed with the idea of letting Marsha know. Annie doesn't want this, though.

David defies it and wants to confess to Marsha that he will leave her for Annie. However, it is interrupted by an attack by a drug addict patient. Annie takes him to the hospital, where Marsha only learns by accident that they are having an affair. After a big argument and finger pointing, Annie manages to reconcile with both her father and her sister shortly before she leaves Los Angeles to resume her studies.

criticism

"Combination of romance, jealous drama and a deep father-daughter conflict against the glamorous background of California."

“The TV-proven director Steven Hillard Stern plays with everything the genre has to offer: tragic heroes, freaky drug dealers and corpses in the basement are part of his inventory. Too many sins for a little film. "
