Die Versenker was a German-speaking rock band from Cologne that was founded in 2010. After two albums with producer Jon Caffery (including Die Toten Hosen ) there was a singer change in 2014. In 2017 her third and final album “Trebüt” was released under the Motor Music label.

history

When they were studying music, Tobias Görtzen, Denis Sarp and Marcel Stoffels first founded a cover band in which they mainly played titles by artists such as the Foo Fighters , Blink-182 or Die Ärzte . After the first songs of their own followed, the band "Die Versenker" was formed. There are many theories about the naming - but the one in which the band says that an organizer with an Eifel dialect came up to them on arrival and said "Do kumme de versenker" is the closest to the truth. Amused and puzzled, the three accepted the name and it was clear that their own music would be published under this name in the future. The debut album "... that I'm totally exhausted" was produced by Jon Caffery and released on January 13, 2012. The entire album was financed with own funds and with the help of the Initiative Musik and sold over 2000 times through self-distribution.

After the release of the second album Wertlos, which was financed by crowdfunding in 2013 , the sinkers announced that their singer and guitarist Marcel Stoffels is leaving the band.

In 2014 Görtzen and Sarp started looking for a new front man and got to know Marvin Ochmann through the musician platform "backstage pro". Marvin brought his own influences into the band, the single "Sensation" was created and with it a new band sound. In 2015 the band released the "Meer & Strand-EP" and went on tour through eight federal states.

In 2016 the band worked with various well-known producers (including Clemens Matznick - Revolverheld / Guano Apes , Florian Nowak - Jennifer Rostock / Itchy Poopzkid , Vincent Sorg - Die Toten Hosen / Broilers ) and announced that their third album would be on March 10, 2017 "Trebüt", also financed by the support of their fans, will be released under the Motor Music label .

During 2017, the band announced their breakup. The reasons given were the high expenditure of time, which could no longer be reconciled with the life situation of the artists. The band played the last concert on July 27, 2018 at the RurseeRock in Rurberg , alongside the Kölschrock band Kasalla .
