The dancer Sabine and her sister Ellen had so far lived a righteous life when a dramatic event mixed up everything: Legation councilor von Guntershausen seduced Sabine and made her his lover. After a certain time, however, he drops her, and Ellen, repelled by Sabine's morally relaxed way of life, turns away from her sister. Then Sabine ends up as an animation lady in a dive bar called "The Blue Lantern".
One day by chance she becomes the guardian angel of the child of Privy Councilor Kurt Franzius, who saves her from great danger. This Sabine wants to get married out of love and gratitude. But when he learns of Sabine's past life through the seducer Guntershausen, he refrains from his intention.
