action
On New Year's Eve, friends Sharon and Eva meet at the Sydney Opera House . Sharon, who works here, and her friend are going to a New Years Eve party. Throughout the day there was repeated news of a crisis in Europe, while demonstrations against the American ships at anchor and armed with nuclear missiles took place in Sydney Harbor. Sharon and Eva, however, do not care about such things, Europe is far away and their private problems and interests have priority. When they are about to go to the party, the radio program is interrupted and a reporter reports that nuclear weapons have been used in Europe and North America. Atomic bombs have also been dropped on US bases in Australia. People are encouraged to stay where they are and not to leave the house. The two teenagers are joined by an American soldier and an overseer who has worked longer. The four of them explore the empty opera house together while they talk about God and the world. Finally, to distract themselves from the fact that this might be the last night of their lives, they play strip poker.
