John Scott (film editor)

John Scott (* 1944 in Melbourne , Victoria ) is an Australian film editor .

Life

John Scott began his career in film editing with the Bruce Beresford productions The Adventures of Barry McKenzie (1972) and Barry McKenzie Holds His Own (1974). Since then he has been one of the most renowned Australian editors. As early as 1978, the assembly of Newsfront won an AFI Award from the Australian Film Institute for the best editing. With The Navigator and Little Fish two more awards should follow, with Scott was nominated six more times.

Overall, Scott edited a wide variety of international productions in Australia, England and Hollywood. Most recently, he was responsible for editing the films Game of the Gods - When Buddha Discovered Soccer and Of Travelers and Magicians by the Bhutanese director Khyentse Norbu .
