action

Five surviving Hungarian Jews from the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp come back to the place of their martyrdom and give the viewer an insight into the inhumanity and brutality of the Nazis' war of extermination against the Jews in interviews (you can see or hear Bill Basch, Randolph L. Braham , Alice Lok Cahana, Renée Firestone, Dario Gabbai, Tom Lantos and Irene Zisblatt). They also want to clarify the whereabouts of their relatives, who were not selected for forced labor by the ramp in front of their eyes ( selection ), and therefore they are investigating. The former concentration camp doctor Hans Münch also has a say, who gives insight into the cruel mechanisms of the Holocaust from the perspective of a perpetrator. Former US soldiers who were involved in the liberation of the concentration camps are also interviewed.

Archival recordings and photos from the ruins of the crematoria in Auschwitz are shown parallel to the interviews .
