action
The action begins a few minutes before the unspecified end of the world in an Austrian village. Joseph sits down on the bench in front of his house and drinks a beer. The outsider Klaus joins them. Joseph tells Klaus that he confessed to his girlfriend Vroni - in order to clean the table shortly before death - the previous relationship with Lissy. Then the angry Vroni and the asking for forgiveness Lissy sit down. The last to appear is Lissy's husband, Martin, who has no idea about anything yet. When the world finally ends in a firestorm, everyone pushes their anger and disappointment aside and holds on to each other as the last consoling gesture.

Reviews
“In a single, precisely chosen camera position, 'The last five minutes of the world' tells the story of five people who do not mince words in the face of the approaching apocalypse. Director Jürgen Heimüller and his excellent cast of actors manage to meet the undoubtedly dramatic initial situation with wonderfully laconic humor. Through the targeted use of dramaturgical and cinematic means, a complex world is created, which takes place above all outside the picture edge, in the mind of the viewer. A short, great film. Authentic!"
