Diego Camacho Quesada (born October 3, 1976 in Madrid ) is a Spanish football player .

Player career

As an amateur

Diego Camacho played in a number of Spanish clubs during his career. He started his footballing career with FC Burgos in the 1996/1997 season. He then played for Gimnàstic de Tarragona , but even with the Catalans it only lasted for a year. In 1998 he changed clubs again and went to the Galician club CD Lugo , where he was under contract for two years, but was loaned to Real Murcia for half a year . With Murcia, Diego Camacho rose to the Segunda División , but stayed in the Segunda División B and went to Gimnástica de Torrelavega . He had a regular seat there, but it didn't last long there either. In summer 2001, followed the next change, this time to FC Granada .

In professional football

Although he was repeatedly thrown back from injuries in Granada, he got the opportunity in 2002 to sign a contract with first division promoted Recreativo Huelva . For the late starter Camacho it was the first season in one of the two Spanish top leagues at the age of 26. Right away, the midfielder earned a regular place in the Primera División. But he couldn't prevent the descent either. He stayed with "Recre", but after the unsuccessful attempt at promotion he went to the first division promoted UD Levante . With the Eastern Spaniards he was relegated after only one season, but returned to the first division in the 2005/2006 season.

The last few years

Despite his regular place and relegation, Camacho left Levante again in the summer of 2007 to join promoted Real Valladolid . However, he was not used there very often, which led to the termination of his contract in the summer of 2008.
