Diego Drumm

Diego Drumm (born December 18, 1968 in Leipzig ) is a former German amateur boxer . In 1988 he took part in the Olympic Games in Seoul for the German Democratic Republic and was a member of SC Cottbus .

Career

He won his first medal at the GDR championships in 1986 . In featherweight he won the bronze medal. In the following year he did not appear in the GDR championship in the featherweight, but in the lightweight and qualified for the final. There he was defeated by Andreas Zülow .

He was nominated for the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul and competed there in the featherweight division. In the first round he met the Bulgarian Kirkor Kirkorow and lost the match. He also competed in featherweight at the GDR championships in 1988 and reached the final of the GDR championship. There he lost to Markus Beyer and again had to be satisfied with the runner-up title. Also at the GDR championships in 1989 reached the final again. This time he took part neither in featherweight nor in lightweight, but in light welterweight and lost in the final against Olaf Trenn .
