Career

society

Diego Maurício played under coach Rogério Lourenço in the youth department of Flamengo Rio de Janeiro . In 2010 he was introduced to the first team and made his debut on 29 May 2010 (3rd Round) against Gremio Prudente in the Series A . He scored his first goal in the 1-1 draw against Avaí FC on Matchday 10. In his first season he was used in a total of 29 games in which he scored five goals. Because of his style of play, which is similar to Didier Drogbas , the fans nicknamed him Drogbinha (Little Drogba).

National team

With the Brazilian U-20 national team , Diego Maurício took part in the Junior South American Championship in Peru in early 2011 . He scored twice in eight games and won the title after a 6-0 final victory over Uruguay together with other top talents such as Neymar and Lucas .
