theology

Pope Pius IV paid tribute to him for his works that defended the papacy and were important works of the Counter-Reformation.

His work Decem libri orthodoxarum explicationum was published in Venice (1564 and 1594) and in Cologne (1564 and 1574).

He was a great opponent of the Protestant theologian Martin Chemnitz . Both wrote works on each other's theology. A historical dispute arose between the two across borders; Martin Chemnitz responded with the work Examen decretorum Concilii Trienttini , which Andrade answered with the book Defensio Tridentinae Fidei Catholicae (1578 and 1595), which in turn had previously attacked Chemnitz in another work.
