Dieter Blötz

Dieter Blötz (born November 5, 1931 in Braunschweig , † June 6, 1987 in Hamburg ) was a German politician of the SPD and Vice President of the Federal Intelligence Service .

Life

Dieter Blötz completed a commercial apprenticeship from 1945 to 1948 and then worked as a commercial clerk. From 1950 to 1953 he attended evening school and did his Abitur there. This was followed by studies at the Academy for Community Economy in Hamburg and then at the University of Hamburg . He later worked as the state manager of the SPD, which he had joined in 1955. Blötz was married and had one child.

From March 1966 ( 6th electoral term ) to May 1, 1970 (beginning of the 7th electoral term), Blötz was a member of the Hamburg parliament for the SPD . During this time he was active in the Interior Committee and for some time also its chairman.

After leaving the citizenry, he became an employee of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) without any intelligence experience. As early as April 1, 1970, the German Press Agency reported that the Chancellery had named Dieter Blötz as the new Vice-Head of the BND alongside President Gerhard Wessel . In the summer of 1979 he had to vacate his place because of a love affair. According to the weekly newspaper Die Zeit , the affair came to the public through internal circles of the Federal Intelligence Service.

After leaving the civil service, Dieter Blötz became department director of the Volksfürsorge insurance group.
