Dieter Brümmerhoff

Dieter Rolf Brümmerhoff (born May 25, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German economist and university professor .

Life

After graduating from high school in Berlin, Brümmerhoff studied economics at the Free University of Berlin from 1961 to 1966 . Then until 1970 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Finance, Taxes and Social Policy at the Free University of Berlin. In 1970, with the thesis on the problem of stable bonds, the doctorate to Dr. rer. pole. . After completing his doctorate, Brümmerhoff worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Yale University from 1970 to 1971 before taking up a position as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics at the Free University of Berlin in 1971 . There he completed his habilitation in 1975 with the thesis on influencing the distribution of annual and lifetime income through financial policy .

1977 Brümmerhoff took a call to the professor of economics and finance at the University of Essen and followed 1994 a call to the Department of Economics and Finance at the University of Rostock , he attended until his retirement taught of 2007. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry of Finance .

Research priorities

Brümmerhoff's focus is on finance , in particular tax policy and distribution policy . He also deals with national accounts .
