Dieter Mersch (born March 24, 1951 in Cologne ) is a German philosopher .

Life

Dieter Mersch studied mathematics and philosophy at the University of Cologne and the Ruhr University Bochum . From 1983 to 1994 he worked as a lecturer for business mathematics at the University of Cologne and at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences .

It was founded in 1992 with a thesis in philosophy about semiotics , rationality and rationality criticism from Umberto Eco at the Technical University of Darmstadt to Dr. phil. PhD. He then worked as a freelance writer for various public broadcasters until 1997. From 1997 to 2000 he was a research assistant at the TU Darmstadt and qualified as a professor in philosophy in 2000 with the thesis materiality, presence, event.
