Dieter Soltmann

Dieter Hans Soltmann (born March 17, 1935 in Munich ) is a German manager. He is considered the head of the Sedlmayr family.

Soltmann completed his studies at the Technical University of Munich Weihenstephan , which he completed as a graduate engineer and master brewer. This was followed by his doctorate there .

From 1976 to 2000 he was a managing partner of the Munich Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu KGaA and was then chairman of the supervisory board there until 2002. Soltmann is also a member of the supervisory board of BDO Deutsche Warentreuhand .

From 1987 to 1990 he was President of the German Brewers Association , from 1991 to 1998 of the Munich Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bavarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was also Vice President at the German Industry and Trade Day.

Awards

In 1993 he was awarded the Ritter von Spix Medal for his support of the Munich State Zoological Collection

In 1998 he received the Golden Medal of Honor of the City of Munich .

In 2001 he received the Great Silver Medal of Honor with the Star for Services to the Republic of Austria .

Because of his services, he was appointed Honorary President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria. He is also Honorary President of the Bavarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bavarian Brewers Association . He is an honorary senator of the Technical University of Munich and was a member of the university council from 2001 to 2011.

In 2006 Soltmann was awarded the Great Cross of Merit with a star on the shoulder ribbon for his services .
