Dieter Walch (politician)

Dieter Walch (born March 28, 1940 in Schruns , Vorarlberg ) is a Liechtenstein pediatrician and politician ( FBP ).

biography

Walch is a citizen of Vaduz . He grew up in the Austrian market town of Schruns in the Montafon , attended the Realgymnasium in Bludenz , where he graduated from high school . From 1958 he then studied medicine at the Medical Faculty of the University of Innsbruck . In 1965 his promotion to Doctor of Medicine . In the first half of the 1970s he worked in Vaduz as a specialist in pediatric and adolescent medicine. He ran his medical practice there until the end of March 2019. From 1980 to 1993 he was President of the Liechtenstein Medical Association.

From 1982 to October 1993, Walch was a member of the State Parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein for the Progressive Citizens' Party . First elected in 1982, he was re- elected in 1986 , 1989 and February 1993 .

Walch is married. On June 27, 2002, Prince Hans-Adam II awarded him the title of “Princely Medical Councilor” for his services to the State of Liechtenstein .
