History and use

Until June 2004, the adjacent area was used as an off-road driving area for motorcycles , off-road vehicles and quads . Thereafter, this form of use was prohibited by the lower nature conservation authority of the district of Fulda, as it did not fit the objectives of the Rhön Biosphere Reserve .

Since June 2006, the Dietgeshof has served as the annual meeting point for the Lohr bears, because another meeting in Lohr was no longer possible. The previous traditions, i.e. regular thanks to the gentlemen for his gifts (especially hops, malt and the animals of the field) as well as philosophical disputes and multilingual readings will be retained. The meetings take place on Corpus Christi .
