Neuswarts in der Rhön is a district of Tann (Rhön) in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

geography

Neuswarts is between Motzlar in the north and sea winds in the south, Günthers to the east and Apfelbach to the west .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1348 as "Neu-Swarts".

In the Protestant church built in 1770–75, a hall with an east tower, there is a font with the coat of arms of von der Tann and a pulpit with remarkable inlays and a "law and grace" picture program from a previous building Doctrine of justification.

From 1867 to 1932 Neuswarts belonged to the Gersfeld district, from 1932 to the Fulda district.

On August 1, 1972, the previously independent community of Neuswarts was incorporated into the city of Tann by means of state law as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
