Dietmar Pellmann

Horst Dietmar Pellmann (born December 19, 1950 in Pretzschendorf ; † May 2, 2017 ) was a German politician ( Die Linke ). From 1999 to 2014 he was a member of the Saxon State Parliament .

Life

After graduating from high school, Dietmar Pellmann studied history in Leipzig from 1969 to 1973 . From 1973 to 1981 he worked as an assistant or senior assistant. In 1977 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . From 1981 to 1984 he received a B-Aspirantur in Berlin and graduated there with the Dr. sc. from. From 1985 to 1991 he then took on the role of university lecturer at the University of Leipzig . From 1991 to 1994 he was the press spokesman for the Disabled Association Leipzig e. V. active.

Pellmann was non-denominational, married and had three children, including Sören Pellmann .

politics

Dietmar Pellmann joined the SED in 1972 (from 1990 PDS ). From 1994 to 2001 he was chairman of the PDS Leipzig. From 1991 he was a member of the Leipzig city ​​council .

From October 1999 he was a member of the Saxon state parliament, where he represented the constituency of Leipzig 3 . In the state parliament he was a member of the committee for social affairs, health, family, women and youth until the end of the fourth electoral term (2004–2009) and a member of the second committee of inquiry for the fourth electoral term. In March 2006 Pellmann signed the founding appeal of the anti-capitalist left (AKL) observed by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) and classified as left-wing extremist . In the state elections in Saxony in 2009 on August 30th, Dietmar Pellmann was able to win the direct mandate in his constituency again with 31.3% of the first votes. In the 5th electoral term he was a member of the Committee on Social Affairs and Consumer Protection. For his group he was the specialist spokesman for social policy.
