Dietrich Levin von Ilten (* 1690 in Bamberg ; † August 22, 1751 in Schleusingen ) was a Saxon-Meiningian secret war councilor and colonel as well as the owner of free courts in Meiningen, Schleusingen and Sachsengrund.

Life

He came from the Lower Saxon noble family Ilten and was married to Eleonore Franziska.

In 1747 he bought her Freihof in Schleusingen am Ratscher Steig from the widow of the royal Polish and electoral Saxon court, government and consistorial councilor Johann Christian Schmidt . He had previously acquired the Landsberger Hof in the royal seat of Meiningen in 1737 . He also bought the so-called Rindermannshof in Sachsengrund.

Dietrich Levin von Ilten died on August 22, 1751 in Schleusingen and was buried with a noble ceremony one day later at 8 o'clock in the Gottesackerkirche in Schleusingen. He left three sons as heirs. They agreed on October 5, 1751 on the distribution of the paternal inheritance. The eldest son, Lieutenant Christoph Friedrich Carl von Ilten, received the so-called Hanwackerischen Freihof in the suburb of Schleusingen and the Rindermannshof. The son Wilhelm Heinrich Bernhard von Ilten went to Neumark in the Upper Palatinate in 1752 and the son Julius Gottlieb von Ilten was temporarily active in the Danish military service. Due to increasing debts, the Hanwackerische Freihof had to be auctioned off to the highest bidder in 1757. In addition to the sons, he also had the daughter Christiana Maria von Ilten.
