Dietrich Mechow

Dietrich Mechow (born April 15, 1925 in Berlin ; † November 19, 2015 in Brandenburg ) was a German actor and voice actor .

Life

In the 1950s, Dietrich Mechow took acting lessons and made his debut in the DEFA production Thomas Müntzer - A Film of German History directed by Martin Hellberg during his training . Mechow had engagements in Plauen and Magdeburg before he was hired by Fritz Bennewitz at the National Theater Weimar in 1966 . Among other things, he played there in 1968 the village judge Adam in the Zerbrochnen Krug by Heinrich Kleist and in 1979 in Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's tragedy Egmont .

After his screen debut, Mechow did not appear in front of the camera again until the mid-1970s. In addition, he occasionally worked as a voice actor in the 1980s. Shortly after reunification , Mechow ended his artistic career and retired into private life.
