Sevilla Pastor (* 1905 as Sevilla Siegler , † after 1945 in Bucharest , Romania ) was an Austrian actress .

life and career

Sevilla Siegler was born into a family of actors in 1905 as the daughter of Rosa and Maurice Siegler and was on stage at a young age. She came to Vienna with her parents in 1909 , where her father led the Jewish stage until 1915 . During her time in Vienna, her sister Erna Siegler, who was also to make her debut as an actress in the early 1920s, was born here in 1911.

In 1926 married Sevilla Pastor of the Łódź originating Muniu pastor , whose name was whose real name was Abraham Moses Pasternak and later in the Łódź ghetto was arrested and was in a concentration camp killed.

Seville Pastor, who made the Jewish theater popular in Vienna and was particularly successful in the 1930s, celebrated her greatest successes as an actress in so-called trouser roles . Little is known about her later life; after Austria's annexation , she is said to have performed in Carpathian Russia with the Siegler-Pastor drama troupe to which she belonged for so many years , before the ensemble disintegrated. Before that, the pastor, described as a “swarming Jewish world star”, could still be seen in the Jewish Artists' Games in Nestroyhof in October 1937, after she had not performed in Vienna for two years . She then came to Romania with her parents, where she lived until her death and where she is said to have died after 1945 in the capital Bucharest . Before that, Pastor, who was also considered a gifted comedian , was a member of the State Jewish Theater in Bucharest .
