The story centers on an FBI agent stationed in Jerusalem who, while investigating a murder, discovers a conspiracy whose roots go back 2,000 years. Their focus is on the prophetic return of the Jewish temple.

Production and broadcast
The series was produced by Universal Cable Productions. The series was originally set in Jerusalem , but due to Operation Protective Edge in the Gaza Strip in 2014, filming was canceled and later relocated to Dubrovnik , Split and Trogir in Croatia and Albuquerque in New Mexico .
The episode order of the series, originally designed for six episodes, was later increased to ten episodes by the broadcaster.
It was finally shown on March 5 through May 5, 2015 on USA Network every Thursday at 10 p.m. Due to low audience ratings, no further episodes were ordered.
The German-language premiere under the title took place from 15 April to 24 June 2016 the German pay-TV transmitter RTL Crime Fridays at 20:15, the transmitter has broadcast the first episode in two parts. On free TV, the German broadcaster RTL II will be showing the series with the subtitle Operation Armageddon at Easter 2018. From 29 to 31 March 2018, from 10:30 p.m. and on March 30, from 11:15 p.m., all ten Episodes broadcast.
