The Dimmi-Arena ( Pied Piper Stadium until December 31, 2015 ) is a football stadium in the Austrian town of Korneuburg , Lower Austria . It is the home ground of the football club ASC Marathon Korneuburg . The facility offers space for around 600 people and was completed in 2003. From 2008 to 2010 it was also the venue for the American football club of the Danube Dragons .
The 29,480 square meter area around the stadium, whose original name to the Pied Piper refers Korneuburg, also houses a training field and six tennis courts . The costs amounted to 2 million euros.
The Dimmi-Arena is less known for the ASC Marathon Korneuburg football club, which plays in 1st class Northwest, the 7th highest Austrian division, than for the internationally successful American football club Danube Dragons from the nearby town of Klosterneuburg . The club decided to use the Pied Piper Stadium as a home ground before the 2008 season , as the previous home venue, the Happyland in Klosterneuburg, was out of the question due to renovation work.
The previous record was achieved at the first Blue River Bowl in 2009 as part of the Austrian Football League 2009 against arch rivals Raiffeisen Vikings Vienna , when around 2,000 visitors visited the stadium.
The Pied Piper Stadium was also the venue for a number of rugby matches in 2007 .
In 2011 the Danube Dragons moved to Vienna and from then on they played in the FC Stadlau stadium instead of Korneuburg .
