Dibenzothiophene is a chemical compound that consists of two benzene rings and a central thiophene ring . It is the S analog of dibenzofuran . Dibenzothiophene is found in petroleum and coal tar .

Extraction and presentation

Dibenzothiophene can be obtained by reacting biphenyl with sulfur dichloride in the presence of aluminum chloride.
