Dirico is a small town ( Vila ) in Angola , near the border with Namibia .

Dirico is the seat of a district of the same name ( Município ) in the province of Cuando Cubango . The district area covers 18,590 km² with around 41,000 inhabitants (2011 estimates). From now on, the 2014 census should provide reliable population data.
Three municipalities (Comunas) make up the Dirico district:

Dirico has an airport ( IATA airport code : DRC).
The provincial government is setting up a system of transport ships on the rivers in the region to counter the inadequate regional transport connections. Dirico will be a stopping point for two planned connections over the Cubango (as of November 2013).
