Dirk Jacobs (born August 6, 1970 in Dortmund ) is a German television journalist and television presenter for news, politics and sports. He is a reporter and head of duty at the ZDF morning magazine. He presents the news on RBB television, including the evening show, and works as a sports presenter and sports reporter (also for the ARD sports show).

Life

Jacobs studied economics at the Humboldt University in Berlin and graduated in 1998 with a degree in economics . During this time he began working as an editor and reporter for the ZDF morning magazine in Berlin. For the sports department, he reported regularly on the Bundesliga , the Olympic Games , the Tour de France and the World and European Football Championships, in which he accompanied the German national football team. From 2010 to 2012 he worked as a soccer Bundesliga reporter for the current sports studio , the sports report on ZDF , and as an author and interviewer for ZDF-Olympia-live at the 2012 Games in London . Since the end of 2012 he has been working as a sports reporter for the RBB and for the ARD sports show .

From 2015 to 2017 he moderated the main sports program of the RBB, the sports field , and since then the daily sports blocks in the program, which have replaced the sports field as a TV sports format in the RBB - in rbb at 6 , in rbb currently at 9:45 pm And on Fridays in rbb currently at 4 p.m. and on Sundays in the evening show at 7:30 p.m. He also moderates various live sports broadcasts on RBB.

From 2001 to 2017 Jacobs was anchor of the German-language TV news magazine of Deutsche Welle (DW). He moderated special programs on the fall of the Berlin Wall and reunification anniversaries, on state celebrations, government statements, Bundestag debates and elections, moderated and commented a. a. the wedding of Kate and William in 2011, the commemoration in Auschwitz for the 70th anniversary of the liberation in 2015 and the election broadcast for the 2013 federal election . In 2013, he was also a guest in DW for Typisch Deutsch   and Talking Germany .

Dirk Jacobs has been presenting the news on RBB since 2015 - daily on the programs rbb at 6 am and in the main Berlin news magazine, the Abendschau . For the evening show he is also working as a reporter for articles and live broadcasts. As a political reporter and head of duty, he has been working for the ZDF morning magazine since 2010 .
