Dirk Krüssenberg (born September 29, 1945 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Dirk Krüssenberg made his debut in the 1964/65 season for Fortuna Düsseldorf in the then second-class Regionalliga West . In the following season he replaced the previous goalkeeper Albert Görtz. Krüssenberg became West Champion with Fortuna this season and rose through group victory in group 1 of the promotion round to the Bundesliga . In this he made his debut on August 27, 1966 (2nd matchday) in a goalless draw at home against Bayern Munich . In his two subsequent games on September 10th (4th matchday) and September 17th (5th matchday) he also remained undefeated in the encounters with Hannover 96 and Karlsruher SC . This made him the first goalkeeper who managed not to accept a goal in his first three Bundesliga games. Only in his fourth Bundesliga game on September 24, 1966 (6th matchday), in the 1: 3 defeat in the away game against Borussia Mönchengladbach , did Bernd Rupp defeat him with the goal to equalize in the 41st minute.

National team

On April 14, 1961, in Hagen , he guarded the goal of the DFB student team, which lost 3-1 to the England student team, alongside teammates like Udo Glaser , Wolfgang Glock and Günther Nasdalla .

He made his debut for the DFB youth team on March 8, 1964 in Lörrach in a 2-1 victory over Switzerland - Franz Beckenbauer was the two-time goalscorer in this encounter . In the same year he took the DFB Youth selection at the Junior Tournament UEFA in the Netherlands participate. On March 26, he and his team won 2-1 against Sweden's selection in Enschede . The second group game was lost 3-1 to the Netherlands on March 30th in Apeldoorn .
