Dirk Nawrocki

Dirk Nawrocki (born April 30, 1958 , † June 4, 1994 in Berlin ) was a German actor.

Life

As early as 1974, at the age of sixteen, Nawrocki appeared in the Berliner Ensemble , where he played Melchior in Frank Wedekind's Spring Awakening in a production by B. K. Tragelehn and Einar Schleef . After training at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin-Schöneweide , he went to the Anklam Theater , where Frank Castorf was active at the time.

In 1984 he moved to the Federal Republic of Germany. Here he played in Düsseldorf , Frankfurt am Main , Vienna and at the Berlin Schaubühne . After reunification , he worked again with Castorf at the Berlin Volksbühne .

He died of AIDS and is buried in the cemetery in Berlin-Friedrichshagen .

The documentary film Made in GDR - Everything about my friends, made by Olaf Kaiser in 2006, deals with the life of Nawrocki, among other things.
