Dirk Stettner (born August 24, 1969 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ).

education

Stettner passed the Abitur in Siegen. He then worked for a year in the city's press and information office and then completed his military service in Wetzlar . He then worked for three years in the German Bundestag and began studying history, law and politics at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1994 he moved to Berlin, where he took up a part-time degree in political science at the Free University of Berlin . Stettner is married and has three children.

Working life

Stettner is a partner and managing director of the real estate company Stettner + Stettner Immobilienentwicklung ,planung und Design GmbH . He is also still a member of the supervisory board of the real estate service company GW-C Grundwert Consult AG . Furthermore, in 2004/05 Stettner founded a non-profit workshop for disabled people under the company Wisowerk gGmbH as well as the non-profit joint stock company Wisowerk gAG , the purpose of which was to integrate people with disabilities into the world of work .

Political career

In addition to his professional activity, Stettner began to get involved in politics. He became a member of the CDU and was elected district chairman of the CDU Pankow in 2005 . In 2006 there were allegations that as an entrepreneur he had asserted inflated bills and cheated a building contractor for a large amount of money in the course of the bankruptcy of one of his companies. Stettner denied the allegations, but nevertheless resigned from his position as district chairman. He ran unsuccessfully for the direct mandate in the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2011 in the constituency of Pankow 4 , but was elected to parliament from the Pankow district list. From October 2011 to January 2012 he was a member of the CDU parliamentary group.

On January 28, 2012, Stettner resigned from the parliamentary group after the Berlin public prosecutor had brought charges against him for suspected fraud, delaying bankruptcy and withholding social benefits. The investigation concerned Stettner's activity as a member of the board of Wisowerk in 2005 and 2006. In May 2012, the case was heard before the Tiergarten district court. It sentenced Stettner to one year probation for subsidy fraud, delaying bankruptcy and withholding social security contributions . Stettner appealed against the judgment. The appeal proceedings before the Berlin Regional Court were finally suspended in mid-2015 against a payment of 36,000 euros, whereupon the CDU parliamentary group resumed Stettner on June 23, 2015.

Throughout the proceedings, Stettner remained a non-attached member of the Berlin House of Representatives. Most recently he was a member of the committee for digital administration, data protection and freedom of information as well as the sub-committee for investment management and controlling. In January 2015, Stettner was re-elected as a board member of the CDU local association Weißensee .

After initially missing out on re-election in the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2016 , he moved back to parliament on April 10, 2018 for Gottfried Ludewig, who had previously resigned.

Voluntary positions

Stettner is chairman of the Weißensee Association and the Rennbahn Berlin-Weißensee Settlement Association .
