Disentomb is an Australian brutal death metal band from Brisbane that was founded in 2009.

history

The band started in March. Founded in 2009 by drummer Henri Sison, guitarist Jake Wilkes and singer Jord Philp. Through a demo consisting of two songs, the band won a recording contract with the Japanese label Amputated Vein Records before they even made their first appearance. The album was released on this label in 2010 under the name Sunken Chambers of Nephilim , with the release in Australia via Obsidian Records . In the same year the band performed live with Dying Fetus and Napalm Death , and a tour of Australia was held. The following year, the group took in Switzerland at Mountains of Death Festival part and she went on tour in the UK . 2012 followed national appearances with Cannibal Corpse , and the band could be seen at the Bastardfest . In the same year another demo appeared, and the band continued to tour Australia. In early 2013, bassist Tom Joice left the line-up and was replaced by Jim Parker. Shortly after the album Misery was released on New Standard Elite Records in 2014 , the band could be heard live with Gorguts and Portal in Sydney . In 2014 the band could also be seen at the Indonesian Hammersonic Festival . At the beginning of 2015 they went on tour with Psycroptic and Goatwhore .

style

Brian Giffin assigned the band to Brutal Death Metal in his Encyclopedia of Australian Heavy Metal . Stefan Hofman from bloodchamber.de wrote in his review of Sunken Chambers of Nephilim that modern Brutal Death Metal is offered to the listener. The band goes into "extremely technical and tricky realms", where they pack a lot of different riffs and many tempo changes in one song. Evan Mugford from metal-observer.com wrote in his review of Misery that the album is better produced than its predecessor and that the songwriting now sounds more mature. He also assigned it to Brutal Death Metal. The songs are now slower and they have turned a little more to traditional and "malicious" Death Metal . This creates a closeness to groups such as Immolation and Gorgasm . The band is groove- oriented and technically demanding and now also work some Doom Metal into the songs.
