Disincarnate was an American death metal band from Tampa , Florida that was formed in 1992 and split up in 1993.

history

The band was formed in 1992 by guitarist James Murphy . Singer Bryan Cegon, bassist Tobias Pik, and drummer Tomas “Tommy” Viator joined the team as further members. In the same year the group recorded a first demo, whereupon Mark Simpson ( Malevolent Creation ) could be heard as the drummer. In 1993 the album Dreams of the Carrion Kind followed on Roadrunner Records , whereupon Aaron Stainthrope ( My Dying Bride ), John Walker ( Cancer ) and Pete Coleman could be heard as guest musicians. The band consisted of Murphy as bassist and guitarist, singer Cegon, guitarist Carman and drummer Viator. In addition, the band went on a US tour in 1993 with Bolt Thrower and Benediction . The band broke up in the same year. In 1999 Murphy began work on a second album, including Tomas Lindberg as the singer, while Paul Di'Anno was to play the bass and Nick Barker ( Dimmu Borgir ) to play the drums. However, since Murphy fell ill with a brain tumor , the work had to be interrupted so that the album was not yet released.

style

The band plays classic death metal, with bands like Celtic Frost , Black Sabbath , Possessed , Laibach and Dead Can Dance , as well as Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard as their influences. Lyrically, Murphy, who wrote about 80% of the songs, was inspired by the Sandman comics by Dave McKean and the works of HP Lovecraft . The band played technically demanding death metal on their album and with Bolt Thrower and early death compared.
