Divine Brown (born August 9, 1969 in San Francisco ; actually Estella Marie Thompson ) is a former American prostitute who was involved in a sex scandal with the British actor Hugh Grant and became world famous. She also worked as a porn actress in a porn film about the scandal .

1995 sex scandal and its aftermath

Brown had been ordered by Grant for a blowjob in his car early that morning on June 27, 1995 on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood after he saw her on the street there . Both were caught and arrested by police officers in a clear situation during oral sex in a side street of Sunset Boulevard . Brown was found guilty of "lewd behavior"; she was sentenced to six months' imprisonment for breaking probation. The arrest and the charge of " sex in public " led to a scandal which meant a crash in the image of Grant, while Divine Brown suddenly became world famous and for some time was able to benefit greatly from her prominent client.

Brown had dozens of appearances in magazines around the world as well as in various television and radio shows, for example several times on Howard Stern and Danny! . In 2001, the magazine stern described the prostitute Brown as "the most famous representative of her trade". According to her own statements, she wants to have earned the equivalent of a good 2.2 million euros with television appearances, photos and films.

In October 2005 it was the subject of the Danish TV documentary series Negermagasinet , which presented the culture of Black America and featured prominent contemporary witnesses from the blaxploitation era in the second season . As a contemporary witness, Brown gave information on his own behalf. The 1995 sex scandal was also covered in two English-language books: Locations of America's Pop Culture Landmarks in 2003 and the satirical Celebrity Meltdowns in 2006 .

Filmmaking

In 1996, directed by Ron Jeremy, the porn film Sunset and Divine: The British Experience was made , which is about the sex scandal with Grant. The "Hugh" was given by the porn star Mark Davis , who comes from England and is well-known from over 700 porn films . Divine Brown was hired as a porn actress and starred in the film.
