Dixie Willis
Dixie Willis ( Dixie Isabel Willis, married Ingram; born December 13, 1941 in Fremantle ) is a former Australian middle -distance runner who specialized in the 800-meter distance .
At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 , she was the fastest in the run-up with 2: 05.9 minutes, but fell in the final and was ninth.
In 1962 she set a world record with 2: 01.2 minutes and won over 880 yards at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth in 2: 03.85 minutes.
At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, she could not start because of an illness.
She was Australian champion four times over 880 yards (1960, 1962-1964) and three times over 440 yards (1960, 1962, 1964).
